Humidification Systems Need Maintenance
Server
rooms can become very dry with air conditioning systems running all the
time taking condensate out of the air and removing moister from the
area. Low humidity can cause static build up on server room equipment
and this is obviously damaging to sensitive equipment. If the server
room is occupied by personnel the dry air can cause breathing problems,
dry skin or itchy eyes. This is why professional server room air
conditioning installations use a humidification unit such as a Vapac
system. The Vapac humidifiers have been on the market for
years and are a simple and effective way of humidifying. Its uses a
heater bottle with internal electrodes to heat the supply water in
vapour which is then jettisoned via fan assisted spouts into the
ambient. The Vapac unit is completely controllable via a humidistat
which gives the user complete control, set and forget the unit will
control itself.
Maintenance
of humidification systems
The
Vapac replicable cylinder will require changing at least once a year. It
is advised to fit a filtration system or inhibitor coil to stop lime
scale and debris forming within the cylinder. This will extend the life
of the boiling cylinder chamber and save money on maintenance. The Vapac
has a intelligent controller which will tell the user when the cylinder
needs changing. As you can see with the picture below the container
starts to brown.
